Ticket To ‘The Big Short’ Put On CitiGroup Credit CardCHICAGO IL—According to sources at AMC River East, last weekend, theater patron Jason Bindas purchased his ticket to the film The Big Short using a Citi ThankYou® Preferred credit card. The ticket to the Oscar-nominated dramedy about the housing market crash and ensuing financial crisis cost $15, moving Bindas .01% closer to a promotional $200 Macy’s gift card. Bindas applied for the 12-month/0% APR card in March and was quickly approved by Citigroup, the same bank that laid off 100,000 employees before receiving a total of $476.2 billion in government bailouts after the 2008 collapse. When asked for comment, Bindas said, “We seriously need a revolution. And the worst part is that these big banks think they can just get away with it.” Sources further reported that in the Uber ride home with his fiance, Bindas used his iPhone to tweet an article from the website Medium about the alienating effects of technology.
